About the artist
I began turning when I retired from Sonoco paper mill in Glen Miller Ontario.
I am basically self-taught. The internet via You Tube was my first introduction to wood turning. After many hours of viewing these videos, I purchased my first lathe and tools. I am now on my 4rth lathe and have thousands of dollars in tools and equipment for my wood turning. I have developed my own style in many of my pieces using colours and resins to enhance the appearance of the piece and its usefulness to the owner.
All my work has a food safe finish that will last for years if treated properly. My vases are waterproofed so they can be used for cut flowers without harming the interior.
Commissions gladly accepted, bowls, vases, urns on request.

Over the years I have been carried by 5 Galleries at one time. Two of these are Art galleries. One is a Farmers market/ vendor market. One is a country style farm market with vintage products. The last was The Ontario Woodland catalogue online marketplace for everything wood.
I found it was difficult to maintain so many venues, so I have pared it down to just two as of 2024. With this reduction I am teaching private lessons on a one-to-one basis again starting in Oct this year. I teach everything from beginner class to advance class turning leaning toward the Artistic side of the craft.
I have been the president of the Quinte Wood Turners Guild for quite some time but have stepped back from this to spend more time pursuing my own work. I remain as the web master for the guild and photographer.
