About the artist
Christine Koszler is a Brighton-based artist and talented glass artisan with a lifelong passion for creative expression. From a young age, Christine has always been creative and turned her passion in to a job, first training as an illustrator and graphic designer at Sheridan College and Humber College before embarking on her 40-year Graphic Design career with a focus on the retail and fashion industries. In 2020 she made the shift to retire in the beautiful town of Brighton, Ontario where every day she can be inspired by nature for her glass work.
Christine's true passion has always been glass – it is in her family DNA! She first discovered her love of glass as a child when she stumbled upon a box of colored glass and heard stories about her family's roots in glass-making. The Koszler family has a rich history of glass artisansworking with blown glass and crystal carving, going back generations to Poland and wider Europe.
Throughout her career, Christine has explored various techniques in glass artistry, including stained glass, kiln-formed glass, and blown glass. Christine has now shifted to focusing on glass art full-time along with painting on glass from her home studio in Brighton, and like her family ancestors before her, produces vibrant and unique glass pieces that will be cherished by other families and art glass enthusiasts for years to come.
