The purpose of Arts Quinte West is to bring together people of all disciplines of the Arts with a common goal to encourage, promote and showcase their talents by staging appropriate events in Quinte West thereby raising awareness of the Arts and enhancing the quality of life in the community.
Arts Quinte West was born in 2008 out of a shared vision between the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce and local artists who recognized the need for stronger promotion and recognition of the arts in our area. From this vision, our grassroots organization was formed with the goal of raising awareness for Quinte West’s talented artists and fostering a deeper connection between the community and the arts.
The founding members were passionate about creating a platform for local artists to showcase their work and share their creativity with a wider audience. We began offering memberships in 2010 and officially adopted our constitution in 2011, setting the foundation for the organization’s growth and impact.
Today, Arts Quinte West is a vibrant, volunteer-run organization led by a dedicated Board of Directors. We organize and participate in a variety of events based on the interests and suggestions of our membership, including our popular Community Showcase and special events throughout the year. Through these efforts, we provide our members with the opportunity to exhibit their work, connect with fellow artists, and engage with the broader community. We are also committed to supporting our members by promoting their work through a range of platforms—including this website, community events, and special showcases—ensuring that the incredible talent of our local artists continues to shine and grow.
As we move forward, we remain committed to our mission of strengthening the arts community in Quinte West, building a space for creativity, collaboration, and support for all of our members.
